For students and families

With a recent loss in our school community. Our district’s counseling crisis response team is available for students to access via Zoom and in the Blue Heron building today to help our school community deal with this loss. Students will receive the link in their student email.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, schools are able to provide limited in person support at the school sites.  However, our districts school counseling crisis response team is available to provide support to students, staff, and family members.

Students can access services through the counselor’s regular schedule using the contacts below.

  • Students can access services through Zoom today, Friday, September 11, 10:45am to 3pm
  • Counselors are arranging a special time for those who were close friends or teammates of Travis to meet virtually to share how they are feeling and doing.

Your child may be affected by this news and express his or her grief at home. Some students may feel sad or confused; this could also bring up memories of other losses. These feelings are normal, and we encourage you to let your student talk about them at home. As a parent, you will know best how to support your child as he or she works through the shock, grief and questions that may arise. This information on Helping Teens with Traumatic Grief may help.

We appreciate your support during this sad time. If you have questions, or if we can help you or your child in any way, please call our counseling department, they are available Monday-Friday.
