Dear OCEAN families,

We are looking forward to welcoming you virtually during our Back to School Night Thursday from 5-6, and we'll have lots to share with you. The presentation will be live following this link (https://zoom.us/j/92036583777) and will be available on YouTube after the meeting.

In the meantime, we need your help completing one of our key ALE requirements - your student's WSLP (Written Student Learning Plan). For any student in K-8, please complete the parent portion of either the elementary or middle school WSLP and email it back to Daniel Molotsky at dmolotsky@ptschools.org or to Jess Winsheimer at jwinsheimer@ptschools.orgEach page needs your signature. If you are not able to print and/or scan from home, please come to the Blue Heron front office and complete it in person. Please complete it by Friday, 9/4/2020.

Kirsten Bledsoe, OCEAN counselor, will send out separate emails to high school families about high school WSLPs.

OCEAN teachers will be contacting their families soon to schedule your start-up conference next week. At that time, we will finalize the WSLP and answer any questions you have, and then teachers will sign it. Since conferences will be virtually, we need to complete your signature part ahead of time.

Thank you so much for your patience - we look forward to a great year together!

Take care,

Daniel Molotsky

Dear OCEAN families,

We are so excited to have many new families join our program this year! If you are getting this message, we are planning for you to attend OCEAN. For all new students who have not completed the application, please do so as soon as possible, so we can get to know you and your student.

We are also welcoming new staff members to the team and are planning a virtual back to school night for next week, so you can meet them. We will send out more information about that, chromebook pick up, as well as schedules and conference sign-ups as soon as possible next week.

Please be aware that the first week of school will not have any scheduled class meeting times. Students will get independent review and introductory assignments, and you will meet with your OCEAN teacher for your start-up conference to finalize all ALE paperwork.

Thank you all for your patience, as we are navigating this amazing change and opportunity for our program!

Take good care,
Kirsten Bledsoe
