Seeking Stakeholder to Participate in Superintendent Interviews
Semi-finalist interviews took place Saturday, January 23rd and the Port Townsend School Board has narrowed down the candidate pool to four finalists. The Port Townsend School District is seeking community members, parents, students, and staff to join the Stakeholder Group for Superintendent Interviews. Interviews will be conducted on four days, and group members need to be available and commit to all four days.

Monday, February 1: 8am-11am
Tuesday, February 2: 10am-12noon
Wednesday, February 3: 10am-12noon
Thursday, February 4: 10am-12noon



If you are interested in joining the Stakeholder Group for Superintendent Interviews please complete the short informational application. The application is open through January 26 at 8am. Members will be selected by lottery and informed of their selection on January 26.

Stakeholder Group Application

The interview is a confidential process. Identities of candidates, information related to the candidates, and the interviews may not be shared with anyone outside of the confidential group, including close friends and family members.

Participating staff members will be provided a substitute if needed to allow for participation in the interview if selected.

Everyone can meet the Superintendent Candidate Finalists. Community Community Q & A forums will be held February 1-4, from 3:00-3:30pm via Zoom.

Zoom links will be posted on this page by February 1 to participate in the Community Q & A forums. All community members are welcome to join and meet the superintendent candidates.


Superintendent Search Process
Port Townsend School District is searching for a new superintendent. The first step was to select a search consultant. This consultant will help with the process and will conduct a nationwide search for candidates.

The next step was to determine the qualities we want in our next superintendent. This information was used to build a profile of the ideal candidate. The profile will be used in the screening and interview process, so engaging our community and staff iwas vital.  An online survey and focus groups of staff, community, parents and students happened as a part of the process of gathering information and forming the profile to begin the search process. Thank you to everyone who participated.

The Executive Summary Leadership Profile and Ideal Candidate profile was presented at a November 12 board meeting.

The search consultant conducted a nationwide search for candidates.

Semi-finalist Interviews will be held in January. Finalists will be identified for interviews the week of February 1.
