Applications are now available for the 2021-22 school year for students in grades 1-12. Students applying after 9/13/21 will be accepted only as space is available.

Application and Enrollment Steps
  1. Complete the online or paper application (return to the Blue Heron* or District Office**).

  2. If the student has never been enrolled in the Port Townsend School District follow the New Student Enrollment Steps. Current or formally enrolled students DO NOT need to complete this step.

  3. Someone from the school will contact you when enrollment is confirmed, or to follow up with additional questions about the application. During the month of July it may take about a week to process new applications.

  4. *Blue Heron Office is open weekdays June 21-June 30 and after August 25.
    **The Port Townsend School District Office is open year round, located at 1610 Blaine Street, Port Townsend, WA.

Part Time Enrollment

Grades 1-5: Full time enrollment only. (Exceptions may be made for special services that are best provided with a part time enrollment at another school.)

Grades 6-12: Full time enrollment is given priority. A minimum of 0.5 FTE (3 courses) is required, and will be enrolled as space is available.

Students already enrolled in OCEAN do not need to meet the 0.5 FTE requirement, but should complete step 1 of the application for the online program if they would like to take one or more online courses.

Out of District and Non-Resident Students
There is limited space for non-resident students in the Online Program. Complete the online or paper application. We will follow up and let you know if there is space available and provide you with the next steps for a Choice Transfer Request. This includes students who currently attend other schools in the district through a Choice Transfer Request. Due to OSPI rules there are limited spaces available for non-resident students in Single District Online School Programs.
